Areas of interests

My research is in the area of public international law. I am particularly interested in issues of arms control, international security as well as the law of armed conflict. I completed a research project on the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty a few years ago. I am also interested in contemporary arms control regimes based on multilateral treaties, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

 

Publication

"Russia: The Crimea question and Autonomous Sanctions" (2019), a chapter in an edited book, and a co-authored journal article, "Economic Sanctions against Russia: Questions of Legality and Legitimacy" are open-access papers. 

Another recent work, a chapter in Howard Hensel ed.,   Security Dynamics in the South China Sea (Routledge, 2024), is about the legal dimension of the conflicts and disputes in that region.
